Our Journey
Founded in Bondi, Sydney as Tomas Shmuel Maintenance Services. The goal in delivering local maintenance and cleaning services to residential clients began. Built on strong word-of-mouth referrals, the business quickly developed a reputation for reliability, attention to detail, and personal accountability. Every client relationship was direct, and every job was overseen personally by the founders.
This period established the company’s core values: Accountability, Integrity and Respect.
Awarded the companies’ first commercial building contract, marking the company’s transition into structured commercial services. This transition required:
- Formalised service agreements
- Scheduled cleaning programs
- Site supervision systems
- Staff training processes
The business began developing repeatable procedures rather than relying solely on manual oversight laying the groundwork for scalable commercial operations.
Tomas Shmuel Maintenance Services rebrands into TS Maintenance Services. With rebranding comes great planning, as Managing Director Ron Shmuel and Chief Executive Officer William Tomas decided to expand into the Western Australia Market.
Expanded into the Western Australia market, servicing strata complexes and commercial properties across multiple sites.
Operations broadened to include:
- Strata common area management
- Multi-level commercial buildings
- Scheduled maintenance programs
- Larger team coordination
This phase marked the company’s move from a local provider to a multi-region operator, managing increased staffing, logistics, and quality control across multiple properties.
Celebrated 20 years of operation, managing:
- 8 commercial office buildings
- 11 strata apartment complexes
The portfolio reflected long-term contract retention, strong property manager relationships, and stable operational systems.
The business evolved from a structured commercial service provider with defined scopes, supervision layers, and standardised procedures into a multi-region operator, managing increased staffing, logistics, and quality control across multiple properties.
Founder Ron Shmuel retired after more than two decades of leadership.
William Tomas appointed as Managing Director, guiding the next phase of commercial expansion and operational development. This led to:
- Modernising systems
- Improving operational structure
- Strengthening commercial positioning
- Expanding service capabilities
COVID-19 pandemic hit Australia and demand surged for safe and compliant cleaning in high-risk environments. During this period, TS Maintenance Services was onboarded across medical centre facilities in NSW and WA to provide enhanced infection-control cleaning and hygiene support. This work strengthened our capability in high-compliance environments, reinforcing a culture of accountability, safety, and consistency under pressure.
Following a leadership transition, William Tomas stepped back from day-to-day CEO responsibilities and moved into a Board Advisory role. Henry Moshe-Goldberg was appointed Managing Director, leading the company’s rebrand to Gleba Group, trading as Gleba, to reflect its expanded scope and direction.
